Cork Rocks at the Cruiscin

I was at a Cork Rocks gig last night in the Cruiscin after winning tickets on last weeks Green Room show on 96FM. Thanks Michael
The gig started off with Carbon Copy. They gave a very polished performance, the lead singer had a great voice and the band played varied music which kept it interesting. They definitely had some serious overtones of The Killers but for a young band they played a blinder. Perhaps their tounge-in-cheek name suggests a lot about them.
Revere were next up on stage. I had seen their name on Cork Gigs but hadn’t been to any of their gigs. Going on what I heard last night, I will try catch them again. They had a more distinctive sound and it’s obvious that they have been around a while. They also have an album Science and Progress out.
Next up were The Fallen and I must admit I didn’t hang around too long. It was nothing to do with these guys, they sounded good, it’s just the gig was running on a long time. That would be my one complaint about the show, it could have started a bit earlier as certainly the first 2 bands had long sets each, and deservedly so. I did hang around long enough to get a picture of one of their Santa-hat-wearing moshing fans.
Hope is Noise finished the night. If anybody would like to comment on them, or any of the other bands, feel free to do so here.
All in all a good night. Well done Francesca for organising the whole thing.
