The Roaring Forties Album Launched

March 4th, 2006 Posted in Ireland, Live Music, Photography

Yesterday, I wrote that I was going to the album launch of The Roaring Forties. As always the lads put on a great show. We were invited along to the launch of the album (thanks for that by the way) in the Guinness House so we got to see them twice. Bit of an overload for most bands, to see them twice in the one day, but their energy and enthusiasm for the music, along with the guest appearance of Jon Kenny at both the Guinness House and Scotts made for 2 great and different shows.  Jon joined the band in both venues to sing Is You Is Or Is You Ain’t My Baby to great applause.
I’ll have more on their album when I get a chance to listen to it properly but so far it captures their high-energy approach and is a worthy addition to any CD collection, especially those who have an interest in the swing/jazz music.

Jon and George just before they were beamed up!

Jon extols the album describing it as “great riding music” (I might be paraphrasing but that was the gist of his reasoning!)
