Mick Flannery at the Acoustic Sessions
March 15th, 2006 Posted in Live Music, Photography, UncategorizedLast night, Mick Flannery was the main act at the Acoustic Sessions in the Woodford. After hearing his album, Evening Train, about a month ago, I was really looking forward to seeing him and he didn’t disappoint. His voice sounds like he really should give up the morning routine of 20 cigarettes and a half bottle of whiskey but it’s very distinctive so whatever he does, he should keep it up. (By the way, I am not casting any aspersions as to how many cigarettes Mick Flannery does actually smoke, or how much whiskey he drinks in a morning).
Gavin Moore kicked off the night as usual with a few of his tracks to get the ever-increasing crowd, going. Lindsey (can’t remember her surname) from Canada played next but her story of travelling with an Irish guy to Peru and leaving him there left a sour taste, I mean, he may have been a right bastard but to leave him on the beach in Peru!! Plus she hasn’t seen him since and is going to play at his bar next week. Good luck! The next act was The Man With The Hat, of The Girls of Summer. Funny guy!

Next week, Annette Buckley and Alan Tobin will be joining Gavin at the Acoustic Sessions.
