Shopping Competition
March 20th, 2006 Posted in Ireland, MoneyPhew, I almost did the shopping over the weekend but from today, everything should be at least 10% cheaper with the ban on below-cost selling brought in by the Groceries Order in 1986 being abolished. That is, cheaper until all the smaller shops, and even the smaller chains have closed down or have been consumed into 2 or 3 larger chains. Then we’ll have a nice little oligopoly and we’ll be back to where we are right now, if not worse.
