Murphy’s Battle of the Bands Final 2006

Lotus Lullaby (above) and Ashley Sheehan and the Mute fought it out in the 2006 Murphy's Battle of the Bands last Tuesday night at Cyprus Avenue. Both sets were really good, I hadn't seen either of these bands before although I had heard of Lotus Lullaby being a Cork band 'n' all. Lotus Lullaby were the eventual winners although it must have been hard for the judges to separate both bands.

The Walls played at the end of the night, another great Irish band, the Irish music scene is really flourishing at the moment with an abundance of quality bands. Let's hope the radio stations keep playing them and give them the air-time they deserve, not just in niche (but really cool) Irish slots on local radio.
