Lotus Lullaby at Mitchelstown
August 18th, 2006 Posted in Ireland, Live Music, Music, PhotographyReturning to the Mitchelstown Music Festival, Lotus Lullaby were next up on stage after a brief break when the Sultans finished. I saw them first when they won the Murphys Battle of the Bands earlier this year. That time, they played in Cyprus Avenue and obviously went down very well with the crowd to win the prize but I was wondering how they would transfer their act to a bigger stage. Lead-singer Gavin Dunne is quite the show-man and managed the increased stage-area with great presence.
They have built up a younger fan-base also which was evident on the day. I see from their site that they’re playing an all ages gig at the Half Moon here in Cork on 26th August.
They are playing in Dublin tomorrow (19th August) supporting Butterfly Explosion in the Templebar Music Centre and they’re playing a free gig in An Brog on 22nd September with support by Painting by Numbers. These lads are well worth seeing if you’re around on those days.
