The Darktown Strutters

Last Monday night we went to see a jazz duo called the Darktown Strutters in An Cruiscin on Douglas St in Cork. The Darktown Strutters are made up of the ubiquitous Gary Baus on alto-sax and Brendan O’Connor on jazz guitar. Check out their MySpace page for some cool tunes. Expect to see them in Cork in the near future, particularly with the jazz festival fast approaching.

They’re playing again in the Roundy on Sunday the 19th of November. New weekly sessions (with different bands) apparently, organised by Cork singer/songwriter Ken Cotter & friends, on every Sunday.
