Frank and Walters

The Frank and Walters played at Cork City Hall last Saturday night as part of the Vodafone Access Music series.  It was an invite-only gig so thanks to Ashley for the tickets from the forums, even though Vodafone kindly gave me tickets in the end as well (being a Meteor customer n all!).

The show was introduced by none other than Mr Dave Fanning himself.  The lads had been on his new show on Radio1 the week before (which is pretty cool by the way) so I wasn’t surprised to see him there.

The venue itself had no bar which was probably the reason why the crowd was slightly more subdued than normally at Franks gigs.  Now, I’m not saying that the Irish need drink to enjoy themselves.  But it helps.

The lighting at the event was very impressive and almost made up for the alcohol policy at the venue.  Usually, gigs have just red light on stage (what’s that about?) which makes it very hard to take pictures.  But they put on a great light show here.

Going on the new songs played that night, and at some of the previous gigs, I’m looking forward to getting my hands on their new CD “A Renewed Interest in Happiness” due out later on this month.
