Drop-D Showcase: Philtre

Philtre from Tralee were the second band up on stage at the recent Drop-D.ie showcase. As with Star Turtle yesterday I was very impressed with these guys having never heard them before. The main singer above is a bit of a showman but more importantly has a voice to match, a voice that sounds exactly like Kelly Jones from Stereophonics. But their music is edgier than Stereophonics and I would go see them again if they play Cork again. They certainly brought a big crowd with them on the night!

Philtre play the Cork Semi-Final leg of Murphy’s Live in An Bróg on the 29th March with Ilya K and the headline on the night will be Duke Special.
