Ian Whitty at Cyprus Avenue
November 22nd, 2007 Posted in Cyprus Avenue, Ireland, Live Music, Music, Photography, corkgigsIan Whitty, one of my favourite singers, played in Cyprus Avenue on October 21st last. It had been a long time since we saw him so we jumped at the opportunity to catch him live. His debut album Will o’ the Wisp is a highly recommended addition to any CD collection and I’m looking forward to the release of a new album in early 2008. This promises to be a rockier collection of music than Will o’ the Wisp although Ian does the introspective reflective ballads equally well as the high tempo catchy tunes.

Ian plays tonight (Nov 22) in Galway in The Crane at 9pm and tomorrow in Clifden in The FUnction Room. Just looking at it now, the gig in Clifden also features another great performer in Ger Wolfe so that should be a decent gig. Ian also plays Dublin opening up for super Cork band Fred in Crawdaddy on December 16th. Enough superlatives? I like my music
.
Listen to some tracks on his MySpace.

I like the photees! I haven’t seen Ian Whitty play in ages so I hope he has another gig in Cork soon.
