My Brother Woody at Cyprus Avenue
January 12th, 2008 Posted in Cyprus Avenue, Ireland, Live Music, Music, Photography, corkgigsDublin band My Brother Woody headlined the December instalment of the Melting Pot series of gigs in Cyprus Avenue which also included The Moths and Lauren Guillery & The Claws. My Brother Woody released their debut album late last year and you can listen to most of it on their MySpace at the moment. A reviewer quoted on their site compares them to the Pernice Brothers, which is not a bad comparison at all. They also have a bit of The Thrills about them although not as one dimensional as them. If you are looking for a decent album from an Irish band, “It’s a Long Way From This Sort of Thing You Were Raised” by My Brother Woody is one to check out.
