Crayonsmith at Cyprus Avenue

Crayonsmith are a band that I hear about quite often but it was only back in November that I finally got to see them when they supported Hooray For Humans at Cyprus Avenue. Whilst the keyboard player looks uncannily like Pockets in Fight Like Apes, that is where the similarity to their fellow Dublin band begins and ends. Crayonsmith have a much more sedate sound and you can see why they would have slotted in nicely as a support act for Sparklehorse back in 2006.

Incidentally, I’m off to see Fight Like Apes tonight in the Brog. I actually purchased ear-plugs earlier on in the week in preparation for this!
