My Evil Ex at An Brog – Murphy’s Live 2008

Cork band My Evil Ex (formerly Dylan and My Evil Ex) started off proceedings at the Cork stage of Murphy’s Live 2008 back on January 24th. I’ve seen them play at least once before (photos are still residing on my hard drive!) and thoroughly enjoyed their tight-knit set. The variety of tracks they played on the night surprised me, these guys and gal are certainly not a one-trick pony. They have an edge about them which is summed up nicely by a quote on their MySpace

Their drummer smiles a lot though, looks far too happy. They might need to do something with him

I was talking to him about that and he said that while we were playing, some of his friends were doing anything they could to distract him. I have encountered the same thing with someone from the crowd accomanying me (if you could call it that) on air guitar during some of our gigs. He stopped doing that when I told him I’d hand him the guitar to see if he could complete whatever song we were playing and maybe even the setlist:).
