Cork Transport Plan – Have Your Say
June 18th, 2008 Posted in Environment, Ireland, TravelCork City Council are looking for feedback from the public on how transport can be improved in the city. I’m sure we all have our own gripes and opinions so it’s a great idea to get the views of the public. However, I hope these are acted upon and not just end up as part of a report and another to-do bullet point somewhere.
My main bug bear is the lack of cycle lanes especially coming in from Glanmire where the traffic is very heavy. I would also like to see more frequent buses and some method to be told how close the bus is to you so that you don’t have to go and queue for 45 minutes and wonder if the bus driver has run off with the milkman’s wife. There has to be an alternative to everybody sitting in single occupancy cars sitting in never-ending traffic going to and from work.
Go and have your say.

how many years are we behind in traffic management. hills are a special problem in Cork; weather doesn’t help. I always went by bike to work, wet or dry but highly dangerous nowadays, sorry to say. Luas type system should have been here 50 years ago. Vested interests? taxes for govt on purchase of cars, road tax, petrol, repairs, tyres etc etc. too late to change in short term but has govt courage to prepare the way?

Feck all that nonsense, the main point to be made here is that that photo looks nothing like me!

how about rual cork, the bus service
coming throught some of the rual towns are very rare like Crookstown, had no bus service
after 6 in the evening to cork or anywhere and one bus on sunday that is shocking. and for most west cork like Killmicheal have never had a bus service.there not even bus service for Macroom to Bandon to most of West cork, and most people from these area work in kerry or cork but no bus service and now they take L driver off the road how do they think they get to work.when they came up with this law they should of sort it out ireland shocking forgotting rual areas bus service. if there was a great bus service we would’nt have so many cars on our road.
