Wallis Bird at Indiependence
August 10th, 2009 Posted in Ireland, Live Music, Music, Photography, corkgigsWallis Bird was the second act we caught at Indiependence last Sunday. It’s been a while since I saw her in Cyprus Avenue where she plays regularly enough but I was very impressed with her engaging and energetic live act on a bigger stage. I’ll definitely get along to her next gig in Cork which is in Cyprus Avenue on October 18th.
I have a couple of more photos from the gig in the full set on Flickr.

Great shots. I managed to see Wallis live for the first time at the weekend and she was fab! I should have some pictures up on the blog tomorrow.

Nice work Donal. The whole series is impressive. What lens were you shooting with? I’m assuming you were either right up the front or you had some good reach?

@Kevin:
Thanks Kevin. I was using the 70-200 f4 because I didn’t have a press pass this year. The lighting was decent enough most of the time but I really need a bigger aperture.
Cheers @Kate, saw your pics which were well cool, very stylish.

I was thinking as much. I had the f2.8 equivalent, and it was still tricky getting sharp shots wide open (at ISO1600)!
