Union Hall to Glandore 2012, a set on Flickr.

This is my second time doing the swim from Union Hall to Glandore. A good crowd assembled at the quay in Union Hall in a sunny but windy Friday evening. The wind was against us until the slight corner making it a bit choppy on until then. Added to that were the jellyfish half-way across. Nothing to the more seasoned long-distance swimmers in attendance but it was my first time experiencing them. Something I could do without or at very least I’d like to know what type of jellyfish are the bad type of jellyfish!

Next swim for me is probably the Myrtleville to Church Bay 2k swim in aid of the RNLI. See the Myrtleville Swimmers site for more info. Registrations must be in by email shortly and there are some pre-requisites in terms of swims completed but it’s only €10.
