Windows 8 on an Eircom Wifi Router
December 22nd, 2012 Posted in InternetSo I recently started using a Windows 8 laptop for a project I’m working on. Running it on the wifi at home was a bit of a pain until today when I finally looked in the logs on the router.
[IP] exceeds the max. number of session per host!
This message appeared quite a few times so a quick Google led me to this page on the Eircom forums. You can increase the number of Nat sessions on the router up to 4096. I also disabled all the tiles (right-click and turn live tile off) which come as default. I’m guessing this caused the issue.
Have you experienced this as well? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Or just barking mad? 
Btw, I’m not with Eircom. I’m just using the router as the Vodafone-supplied router was seriously cack. Now, if only UPC would come to my area…
