I meant to mention Nós a while back on the launch of its first issue. Nós is an online magazine completely as Gaeilge which just brought out their second issue on Thursday. Interestingly, the only part of the magazine not in Irish is their description.

nós* is a new contemporary Irish language magazine for the modern age.
From film to fashion, sex to travel, music to technology, nós* has it all.

Check out all issues of the magazine here and if you’re browsing the second edition (called Eagrán 1 as they started with Eagrán 0), keep an eye out for the review on the John Spillane gig which uses one of my photos. It’s good to see a high quality online magazine done through Irish aimed at the youth market. I wonder is there any plans to bring out a paper version of it?

Cork singer-songwriter extraordinaire Mick Flannery was on RTE radio a week or two ago as part of the MyTunes mini-series. You can listen to the show online. And while you’re over there, check out the lovely photo… I had been surprised to see my photo used without any accreditation but they have rectified that now so I’m a happy bunny again.

Mick is playing a few gigs over the coming weekend, starting this Thursday (13th) in de Barras in Clonakilty. He’s in Dolan’s in Limerick on Friday, Roisin Dubh in Galway on Saturday, and then back to Cork in the Everyman Theatre on Sunday. I got my tickets to the Everyman last weekend and there was limited seating left, I’m upstairs in the balcony. I will be taking photos at the show in Clon and might even get a few from my perch in the Everyman. If you haven’t heard his music, go take a listen on his MySpace, truly wonderful stuff.

One thing I’d like to know though, how old is Mick? Every blurb I’ve been reading for well over a year always describes him as a 23 year-old…

Edit: Found a nice article this morning about Mic, check it out.
